Dear Second Grade Families,

Thank you to All the parents/grandparents who came to help in our primary centers on Friday.

We have a busy week ahead of us. Our Flat People were finally sent off!  You may let the guest families know that they are on their way.  We will be looking forward to their correspondence.

This week on Thursday we will have our assembly for “Hats Off for Cancer.”  We are still collecting hats.  Your child may bring the hat in before the day of our assembly. Remember all hats MUST be new and logo and kid friendly.

Our student of the week is Emiliano!  We can’t wait to see what he brings to share with us.

Our academics for this week are:

Language Arts: We will be reading, Exploring Parks with Ranger Dockett. Our comprehension skill focus will be identifying and differentiating between fact and opinion.

We will be working with the consonant clusters r, l and s.  Children will be working on double final consonants in their spelling words.

Math: We will be working on Algebra Readiness:  Names for Numbers, Fact Families, and Problem Solving.  We will be taking our Quick Check (Quiz) & Cumulative Review on Friday.

Religion:  Last week, Deacon Barry came into our class to have a baptism with our doll , Mary Elizabeth.  The children enjoyed the celebration.  We ended Unit 1 and will have a cumulative test on Tuesday.

We will begin unit 2,  “Jesus Calls Us to Give ourselves in Love”.
