Dear Kindergarten Families,

Happy Monday!

A busy week this will be:

  • Wednesday is a free dress for cancer–wear blue or pink please bring in a $1.oo donation.
  • A special school Mass for Mrs. Dwyer
  • Primary Centers after Mass
  • Noon dismissal

As I have mentioned, please be thinking of whom your child will represent for the Saint’s Parade. I need this information next Tuesday. Please send child’s name and saints name on form sent home last week. These saint costumes do not have to be elaborate, please know they can be made easily with a robe, scarves, large T-shirt, etc. Click on Catholic Saints for IDEAS – I can help by showing costumes from previous years.

Our academics for this week include our part in taking care of God’s world through faith and knowledge. Care for our family, friends, and all living things will be taught in religion as well as social studies. I will show the class pictures and a slide show of Saint’s Parades from past years.

Letter and sound /s/ and short vowel /a/, and  sight words, “I, see, and, the” to begin pre-reading skills. Book-it is a reading incentive that starts in October. “Book-It” information and form coming home today. Comprehension strategy skills – noting details and making predictions.

Math Chapter 2 — booklet came home last week. Understanding how patterns repeat in twos and threes by color, size, and shape will be the focus in math for several weeks.

Wednesday, a science lab in  multipurpose room 1.  Animal movement and which body parts contribute to movement this will take us to an understanding of adapting, hibernation, and migration as the seasons change.

**Wednesday, an on campus field trip by Father O’Sullivan–a visit to Sacred Heart Church, we will listen and learn — the history of our church, the beautiful mosaic, stained glass windows, and more will be presented.

Have a wonderful week,

Mrs. Carol Brown
