Dear Kindergarten Families,

Amazing, it is the last week of September! A month of school days has almost past, and all are adjusting well to our weekly routine.  We will go to the library on Tuesday mornings. Next month, we start checking out one book per week.

Last Wednesday we had the privilege of touring Sacred Heart Church with Father Bill. We began in the Sacristy, heard about the liturgical seasons, the colors of the Priests robes, traveled through the hallway to the Altar, and learned Jesus is present in the Tabernacle when the red candle is lit. Thank you Father Bill!

We’ll work in our religion textbook Chapter 3, read stories from the Children’s Bible and make a craft this week.  Language arts lessons will continue with identifying, reciting, noting sounds, and letter shapes/form. Reading for comprehension, we list, discuss, and note details each time we read.  Showing information with a picture graph will continue this week as we finish up chapter 1 in math. Chapter 2 is all about patterns, beginning next week.  Science lessons – animals continues as we compare the different ways of moving, speed, and how their coverings contribute to movement.

If you have any questions about the Saint’s Parade, please send me a note or contact me via email. kindergarten@sacredheartschoolventura.org.

Friday, September 30 is a noon dismissal.

Have a nice week–sounds like it will be warming up….

Mrs. Carol Brown
