Dear Third Grade Families,

Happy Halloween! This Wednesday “tattoos” will be available for $1 each. Students may apply up to 2 (one on each hand). If students would like to purchase more, they may take the rest home. All funds earned will go directly to the Adopt-a-Family program. On this day we will also have free dress!

In terms of our academic work, this week we will be closing out some chapters as well as beginning new ones. See below for details:

Math: We will wrap up chapter 2 with a test on time this Wedesday. Note: If you take your book home to study, we did not cover the “counting money” part of this chapter as it is no longer one of our third grade standards. As we close the book on chapter 2, we will move on to multiplication concepts!

Science: The class will be taking our Chapter 7 test on Tuesday rather than Monday, moving on to chapter 8 which will be on energy!

Social Studies: We will continue to study California’s regions.

Language Arts: Spelling – Unit 10: ou/ow word patterns. Reading – We will continue with Bunnicula. Writing – We hope to move on to our next genre, persuasive letter writing.

Religion: We will continue our chapter on Mary as well as attend mass Thursday morning for All Saint’s Day. Finally, we will cheer on our school’s little saints at the Saint’s Parade this Friday.

Have a great week!
