Hello Third Grade Families!

This morning, we hit the ground running!

In class this week, we’ll be studying the following:

Math: This week we begin Unit 3: Linear Measures and Area. We will cover lessons 3.1-3.3. Please take some time to review measuring to the half inch. Feel free to follow along with us at www.everydaymathonline.com. Your child’s username and password can be found in his/her planner.

For IXL math homework, please complete the following Third Grade skills:

Q.3 Measure Using an Inch Ruler

L.1 Rounding – nearest ten or hundred only

B.3 Value of a Digit

Vocabulary: We will finish Unit 3 with a quiz this Friday. For a list of the words, definitions and additional practice go to the vocabulary workshop site. Instructions, along with a username and password, can be found taped on the inside cover of your child’s planner.

Reading: Library day is Thursday! Please remind your child to bring any books that are checked out so that they may be renewed or check back in.

English: We will be finishing Unit 1 in our Grammar books this week. The Unit 1 test will take place on Thursday. Log on to the Grammar Workshop website for additional practice and skills reinforcement. Directions can be found in your child’s planner.

Science: In class this week, we will begin Chapter 7, “Chemical Changes.”

Social Studies: We will be making a salt-dough model of various landforms in the lab on Tuesday!

Religion: The class will continue Chapter 6, “We Believe in God.”
