Hello Third Grade Families!

Teddy Bear Day is finally here! Don’t forget to bring in a stuffed animal for the children of the Adopt-a-Family program.

Pre-order donut sales have also begun. Bring in $1 to place your order. December 16th is Donut Day!

The class is still collecting non-perishable food for our annual Food Drive. The last day to bring in donations is Friday.

This week the students will be working on the following…

Math: We will continue Unit 4 focusing on multiplication and division. This week the class will cover lessons 4.7, 4.8 & 4.9.  As always, see the Home Links at www.everydaymathonline.com for extra practice with skills learned in class. Your child’s username and password can be found in his/her planner.

For IXL this week, students are to complete the following third grade skills:

G.1 Division facts to 5

G.2 Division facts to 10

N.6 Put money amounts in order

Spelling: Click here for this week’s spelling words & pattern.

Vocabulary: This week we begin Unit 8. Our next vocabulary quiz will be next Friday.

Reading: Keep your eye out for the next e-mail listing which books your child will need for Unit 3. We continue to focus on inferential questions as we turn more of our attention toward building comprehension skills.

English: The class will begin Unit 3: Verbs with lessons 15 and 16.

Science: Time to begin a whole new unit: The Solar System! This week we will learn all about different types of telescopes.

Social Studies: The class will continue our study of Native Americans.

Religion: We begin Chapter 11: God Sent Jesus. Click here for a copy of the Study Guide. The class will be focusing on Advent and the Jesse Tree.
