Dearest Third Grade Families,

Mark your calendars for the School Fair this Wednesday evening from 6:30-7:45. See you there!

This week we’ll be studying the following:

Math: The class will continue with Unit 6 (Geometry) covering lessons 6.7, 6.8, 6.9and 6.10 . As always, I would encourage you to follow along with us by completing the “Home Links” at www.everydaymathonline.com. Your child’s username and password can be found in his/her planner.

Note: The Unit 6 Test will take place March 11th.

Likewise, we continue to practice our multiplication and division facts. Take a look in your child’s planner for the latest progress report and individual goal. As a reminder, this is part of the nightly homework.

R.5 Similar and Congruent

R.22 Classify Quadrilaterals

Reading: There will not be a Reading Log this week. I’d like to give students as much time as possible to work on their science projects.

English: The class will continue Unit 3: Verbs with Lessons 23 & 24 (Irregular Verbs). Students are encouraged to study along using the Grammar Workshop series online. The Unit 3 Test will take place Friday, March 7th.

Vocabulary: This week we continue with Unit 12. Our next vocabulary quiz will this Friday. As a reminder, all words as well as activities and a practice quiz can be found at the Vocabulary Workshop website.

Science: This Wednesday is the School Fair!!! Students should bring in their projects no later than Tuesday, February 25th.

Social Studies: The class will focus on the role of rules and laws in our school and classroom communities and the responsibilities of citizenship.

Religion: This week the class will learn about online safety in our annual Virtus lesson.
