Here we go…

Math: We will complete Unit 7 this week with a test on Thursday. Continue practicing to solve for extended facts in both multiplication (5 x 50, 200 x 400, 3,000 x 6, etc.) as well as division (540/90, 6,400/80, 5,600/700).

Reading: This week’s reading strategy is focused on fluency. Students will be learning how to use punctuation to enhance phrasing and prosody. This is a great skill for practicing at home on your weekly fluency passage. Click here for the Parent Pipeline.

Homework: 100 minutes (minimum) read & logged on Reading Glue. New reading levels will be entered in this week.

Word Work: This week’s words can be found in your child’s planner. Our next spelling test is scheduled for Friday.

Writer’s Workshop: We are all done with Informational Writing for the moment. Our next genre will be persuasive writing.

Grammar: The class will begin Unit 4: Adjectives and Adverbs. This week we will cover Lessons 26, 27 & 28.

Science: This week is all about fossils: why scientists study them & what we can learn from them.

Social Studies: We will begin our unit on Government and Citizenship.

Religion: The class will finish Chapter 15: Jesus Suffered and Died for Us.
