Hello Third Grade Families,

All the students did a fantastic job on their solar system projects for the School Fair. Each and every one showed creativity and scholarship. The students of the third grade should all be proud of themselves.

In class…

Math: We will finish Unit 6 this week. The Unit “Progress Check” (test) will take place Tuesday, March 10th. After that, we will begin Unit 7: Multiplication and Division, Part II. As always, see the Home Links at www.everydaymathonline.com for extra practice and review. Your child’s username and password can be found in his/her planner.

For IXL this week, students are to complete the following third grade skills:

R.4             Symmetry

R.12             Areas of squares and rectangles: word problems

L.2            Rounding

Grammar: We will begin Unit 4: Adjectives this week! We will cover Lesson 26 after spending time with some basic adjective review activities.

Science: The class will continue Chapter 5, “Cycles and Patterns in Space,” focusing on the phases of the moon. The Chapter 5 test is tentatively scheduled for next Thursday, March 19th.

Religion: We will continue our study of Lent. Monday the class will be going to the church for Confessions. Then on Tuesday there will be Stations of the Cross at 2:00. The class is currently studying Chapter 22, “God Blesses Contrite Hearts.”
