Hello Third Grade Families,

Congratulations are in order for our class finalists in this year’s speech competition. While it was tough to choose, these five will represent the third grade: Paloma, Dominic, Destiny, Chloe & Nico!

Math: Unit 8 – Fractions, continued! The class will continue to review fractions as we make our way through lessons 8.5-8.7. As always, see the Home Links at www.everydaymathonline.com for extra practice and review. Your child’s username and password can be found in his/her planner.

This week’s IXL homework assignment is as follows:

S.9 Fractions of Number Lines: Unit Fractions

T.5 Find Equivalent Fractions Using Area Models

U.11 Order Fractions with Like Denominators

Vocabulary: We will begin Unit 16 this week. Go to the Vocabulary Workshop website for words and definitions. Login information can be found in your child’s planner.

Grammar: The Unit 4 Test will take place Tuesday, April 28th. In your studies I suggest reviewing the subtle differences between adjectives and adverbs, practicing identifying both.
