Dear Fifth Grade Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Catholic Schools week.  Thank  you all for the gifts and the flowers.  This Wednesday is free dress for a donation of $1.00.  The money donated will go to Many Meals.  This Friday Bishop Curry will celebrate mass with us.  If your schedule allows please join us for mass at 8:30.

Below is an overview of our week:

Voc: Unit 10

Spelling: Unit 15

Math:  We will be comparing fractions, mixed numbers and decimals.

Science:  Our focus will be on conserving water.  Our science test will be next Thursday.

Social Studies:  Encounters with the Dutch and French in the Americas. Our next test will be next Tuesday.

Religion:  This week will be be looking at John 6:1-60.  We are discussing how Jesus is the ‘Bread of Life.”

English:  We will continue to work on prepositional phrases and begin learning about the difference of a preposition and an adverb.

Literature:  We will be finishing our work on the story Stone Soup.
