Dear Second Grade Families,
I can’t believe we will hit our 100th day of school on Wednesday! Time flies when you are having fun. We will begin our Catholic Schools week on Friday with a Mass and Parent Appreciation Day. Please join us in Church at 8:30 a.m. Refreshments and classroom visits will be after Mass.
Take a SNEAK PEEK at our week:
Tuesday and Thursday: Progress Reports go out Tuesday; P.E.
Thursday: We will not have library this week.
Friday: Parent’s Day with noon dismissal! Please meet us by the main entrance of the church. If you are not attending, please let me know.
Homework: A little reminder, fluency and reading log will be sent home every Monday in your child’s homework folder.
Reading Log & Fluency
Math IXL C.2 and C.3; Please complete R.1 if your child has not completed this assignment.
Language IXL: Please make sure your child has completed both H.1 and H.2 by next Tuesday.
RELIGION: We started our memorization of the Act of Contrition a few months ago. Please practice at home. We are reviewing the steps of Reconciliation. What do you say and do when you walk into a confessional? What is absolution? Penance? February 8th is our day of receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please send me an email if you have any questions regarding this special day.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
READING: I am allowing students to bring in one non-fiction book to read in class from home. Please make sure you label your child’s book with your family name. We are learning how to identify keywords and remembering our new knowledge.
SPELLING: Students will be taking their spelling test next Monday.
MATH: We have started our new unit 5. We are learning about line segments, points, and shapes. Please look over your child’s graded math test in this week’s
SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES: Learning the procedures to an experiment/People who lead our city and country
