Dear Second Grade Families,
Progress reports are going home today. I have met with some parents but look forward to meeting with all of you in the next few weeks. A reminder, please send extra water with your child and check our school website periodically for school information. 🙂
Homework
Reading: Students are to read 100 minutes on their own. You may also include any bed time stories you may be reading to them.
IXL: Math IXL K.1 and Language IXL M.1
Spelling Test: Practice on Spelling City or on your own. Test will be on Friday.
Great Job with fluency! All students continue to show growth in their fluency. Keep it up!!! Rereading books aloud help students increase their fluency as well.
Religion: Your child will come home with a candle on a worksheet on Friday. Please have them fill in the information before decorating. They can use crayons and/or markers to decorate. Be creative. The candle may be turned in on Tuesday, October 10th.
TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT WE WILL BE DOING THIS WEEK:
RELIGION: I would like to have the students bring in any memorabilia (candle/pictures/rosary) of their Baptism beginning next week. We will be sharing throughout next week. Please do not send anything before Monday.
SAINTS: Saint selection will be assigned next Tuesday. The assignment will be due on October 2oth. Reminder: Students must dress up as their saint on November 3rd. Please save this date so you can attend this wonderful gathering of saints. This will be their last year to participate in the Saint’s Parade.
MATH: Addition Strategies that are doubles; Fact Families; Subtraction and Addition word problems We will be working on 2.4-2.8.
SCIENCE: Force and Motion
SOCIAL STUDIES; Social Studies; Communities, maps.
Reminders:
Tuesday & Thursday: Progress Reports go home on Tuesday. P.E. on Tuesday and Thursday.
Thursday: Library books are due.
Friday: Noon dismissal!
