HERE’S A LOOK AT WHAT WE WILL ACCOMPLISH THIS WEEK…

PRIMARY CENTER DAY THIS FRIDAY!  If you are available to volunteer, please send me an email by Wednesday.

FLAT PEOPLE:   We continue receiving Flat Mail.  Students are finishing up a New Year’s Letter to our host family. I will be attaching a letter to request our flat students to return by the first week of February.

HOMEWORK: READING LOG, Fluency,  MATH WORKSHEET (sent home in H.W. folder), No IXL and don’t forget to work on spelling city assignments.

RELIGION: We discussed that Jesus loves us even when we make mistakes.  We will continue learning how Jesus forgives us.  We will  read the story of Zacchaeus.  We will end our week by learning about how the Sacrament of Reconciliation is Jesus’ gift for peace and spiritual growth.

Save the Date for RECONCILIATION:  March 24th at 1:00 p.m.

LANGUAGE ARTS: plurals, vowel pairs ‘ee’ and ‘ea’, words that end in ‘tion’ and ‘ture’; Dictionary work; creative writing; Dictionary and Thesaurus work.

READING:  We will begin the Big Bushy Mustache,  a realistic fiction selection. We will be reading for comprehension and fluency.  We will begin leveled reading books in small groups with reading and comprehension strategies.

We will continue our read aloud, Boxcar Children #1. We will finish read chapter 1-3.

SPELLING: Unit 17, Homophones:  Spelling Test will be on Thursday.

MATH:   We will be working on 4.5-4.9 this week.  Our focus will be estimating/ball park estimation/change diagram and practice with addition and subtraction.

SCIENCE:  Rocks and Minerals:  If you have any interesting rocks or minerals you would like to send in to share you may do so on Wednesday.  We will be sharing on Wednesday only.
