Dear Second Grade Families,

I hope all the our second grade moms were spoiled this weekend.   Thank you to all the volunteers and donations for our jog-a-thon!  We had a great time jogging, walking, and especially the dancing.  It was a blast!!!!!

Our Academic Week:

Homework: Fluency Reading Log and IXL (U.2 and U.3). Students must complete the skill.

RELIGION: We are continuing to follow Jesus by making good choices as children of God, and learning about the mass.  I would like to ask students to bring in any gift they received on their  First Communion to share with the students. (ex:  bible, rosary, cross etc.).

LANGUAGE ARTS:

READING: We continue working on reading skills such as reading for fluency, comprehension and rereading for clarification.

SPELLING: Unit 32  spelling words have a long vowel with an -ed or -ing ending. We will take our spelling test on Friday.

MATH: Unit 8 Fractions:  We are working hard on defining numerator and denominator.  We will work on 8.3-8.6…Our math test for unit 8 will be next Wednesday.

SCIENCE: Magnets

Reminders:

Tuesday & Thursday:  P.E. uniform

Wednesday: Library Books due

Friday:  Mass 8:30 am and In & Out…Primary will be eating in front of  the hall so bring your picnic blankets or lawn chairs.  If you ordered tickets for yourself, please go to the table outside the Scrip Office to receive your tickets.  Students will receive their tickets in the classroom.  Please join your child in the lunch line.
