Dear Second Grade Parents,

It was nice to see everyone on Back-To-School.  This week will be four full days with Friday being a minimum day.

Reminders:

Tuesday and Thursday:  P.E. uniform

Wednesday:  Library books due on Wednesday.   Students return their two books since we have our library day on Wednesday.

September 11th is Grandparent’s Day!

Homework:

Reading:  You should have received an email from “reading glue” last week to begin your “connection”.  I am not expecting you to start your nightly reading log until 8/31.  I would like you to take some time to become familiar with the site.  I will be adding class minutes and reading logs to each student during this week.  If you have not received an invitation from Reading Glue please check your spam or send me the email you would like to use to receive the information.  I do encourage students to read for twenty minutes but you do not need to log in minutes.

IXL: Students must complete skill A.2 on the second grade section of IXL.

Spelling:  No Word Sorts this Week

All homework is due on Monday.

Religion: We started our Family Life,   God’s Gift of Love

Math: We are working on recognizing the value of money and counting money.   We will review skip counting, months of the year and adding.  Please practice the value of coins (nickel, dime, quarter, penny).  We have done lessons 1.1-1.5 in our everyday math.
