Dearest Second Grade Families,

Our week is short!  As we prepare for this wonderful holiday, I would like to thank every one of you for all your support. As I tell the kids, I am thankful for each and every one of them. I wish all of you a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Academic Overview:

Homework:   No homework.

RELIGION: We will be reviewing our first three commandments.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Reading: We will be finishing our our reading assessments by next week so keep practicing your reading strategies and goals at home as we continue reviewing in the classroom.

Word Work: Spelling Test will be on Wednesday.  We allowed extra time with these word sorts since most groups needed extra time.  Your child will receive their new sort on Wednesday to be ready when we return. 🙂

Science:  Test on Tuesday

MATH: We will continue working with making change and take a test next Tuesday when we come back from our 4 day weekend. CLICK HERE FOR MATH REVIEW  (This is what will be on our test so if you want your child to review during the long weekend).

Reminders:

Tuesday:  P.E.

Wednesday: Noon Dismissal

Teddy Bear Day is on December 5th.  We have received our first teddy bear (new teddy bear with tag), please send them between now and December 5th. 

We will begin our St. Vincent de Paul food drive upon our return. Paper bags will be given out soon & we ask that you fill them with non-perishable foods for hungry families here in Ventura County.
