Dear Second Grade Families,
This week will be parent teacher conferences. Dismissal for students on December 9th-11th will be at 11:30 a.m. Students will receive their “Progress Reports” on Tuesday. I look forward to our conference this week.
A little reminder: We have had warm/dry weather which is causing lots of chapped lips. Your child may have chapstick in their pockets or backpacks to wear as needed. Please remind them not to share their chapsticks.
HOMEWORK this week :
Reading Log: I encourage all the kids to read extra minutes. I have challenged them to read more than 20 minutes a day. I have started sending some of my personal books home
IXL L.2 and F.3
Spelling: Our spelling test will be next week on Tuesday.
RELIGION: We will continue discussing Advent. We have our Advent Assembly in the early morning.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Reading: We continue with the same strategy from the last two weeks. We will complete the Polar Express, so we can identity the theme, which is “to believe”.

Writing: We will be focusing on lessons on when we use a capital letter when we are writing. We will wrap up our narrative writing this week.
MATH: We will practice using a change and comparison diagram to solve subtraction problems. Practice addition and subtraction to 20 at home.
This week we have lots of music practice to prepare for our fabulous Christmas Program.
Reminders:
Tuesday: P.E.
Wednesday: Library Books Due; 11:30 a.m. dismissal
Thursday: No P.E. uniform needed for 2nd grade; 11:30 dismissal
Friday: 11:30 a.m. dismissal
