Dear Second Grade Parents,
We have only 4 days this week and a lot to do. We will begin our Memorial Day weekend on Friday. There will also be no school on Monday.
Last week, I sent an email regarding Sunday mass on May 29th at 10:30. Our First Communion children have been invited by the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima to attend Mass on Sunday (Corpus Christi) at 10:30 a.m. in their First Communion attire. They will participate in the procession after Mass around our church property. Ms. Reznick (Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima) would like to know if you are interested in attending so she can prepare baskets and palms. The estimated ending time for the Mass and procession would be 11:45 a.m. Please send me an email only if you plan to attend this procession. I need to let Ms. Reznick know the total amount of children by tomorrow morning.
ONE MORE FIELD TRIP! PLEASE PRINT OUT AND RETURN TO SCHOOL BY THURSDAY. We will be taking our last field trip to the Camarillo Library next Tuesday.
Students who ordered pictures through Lifetouch for First Communion received their pictures today. Please look in their parent communication folder. You will also find their First Communion certificates.

A Peek at our Academic Week:
Homework: No fluency, IXL S.3 and L.7, READING LOG (Reading is only required for four days Monday-Thursday).
RELIGION: Family Life Unit: We are discussing how we show our love with actions in school and at home. Children are still allowed to bring something to share of their First Communion.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
READING: We will continue reviewing reading skills. I continue to give reading assessments.
SPELLING: We do not have computer access to practice our spelling at school this week. I highly recommend students practice their spelling words on spelling city.com. They will take their spelling test next Thursday since we will be off on two field trips.
MATH: Our other focus areas will be adding and subtracting three digit numbers. We keep working really hard in this area because third grade will start with four digit numbers. We begin Unit 9! It will be all about measurement!!!!
**********We will be going on our field trip to Underwood Farms on May 31st. Students may wear caps and remember to apply sunblock. They must come with a sack lunch. *********
