Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
Math: This week we will wrap up Unit 6 on geometry. We will continue to work with the sides, vertices, and angles of shapes. This week dive into the characteristics of 3D shapes. Our test is scheduled for this Friday. Study guides will go home on Thursday.
Reading: We begin our next reading unit, character studies! As we begin our new class read aloud, Because of Winn Dixie, we will discuss how a new character talks and acts, using those observations to form an idea of what our characters are like, using character traits to describe them.
Writing: This week we also begin our new writing unit…opinion! We will work on forming opinions and using solid reasons to support our point of view.
Word Work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Thursday.
Religion: This week we begin a new series on the Ten Commandments. Throughout the next couple of weeks we will learn all about how God revealed the Ten Commandments, memorize them, and work on truly understanding the meaning of each. We also pray for our second grade friends during their first reconciliation this Wednesday.
Social Studies: We will learn about how people use natural resources.
