Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
math: This week we wrap up our Unit 4 on measurement. Our math test is scheduled or this Tuesday. Then, we will begin Unit 5- working with very large numbers!
reading: This week in our mystery reading we will discuss the reading strategies we can use when things seem tricky; re-read important parts, take note of suspects, make a timeline of big events in the story, etc. Crime solvers are also great note-takers!
writing: In our informational writing, we will focus on writing up strong conclusions as well as adding non-fiction text features like so many great non-fiction authors do!
word work: Word lists can be found in your child’s planner. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.
religion: This week in Chapter 11, we will recall how God prepared his people for the Savior. Our religion quiz is scheduled for this Thursday.
science: This week we will learn all about the science behind preventing mosquitoes. We will apply the knowledge about mosquito habitats and life cycles toward preventing mosquitoes in a fictional town.
social studies: We will discuss the ways people have modified the physical environment through innovations like dams & bridges.
Have a great week!
