Sneak Peek To Our Academic Week
- math: This week we continue to work with our extended multiplication and division facts! For example, 50 x 3=150, 300 x 4= 12,000, 210/3=70, 3500/5=700. Our math test is scheduled for this Friday.
- reading: We continue on with animal research clubs! This week we will find out which second animal we are researching. Then, we will work hard to continue to research our new animal and begin to compare and contrast the two we have spent time learning about.
- writing: This week we will work on expanding our reasons to support our opinion by adding great, specific examples of our reasons. With opinion pieces, our goal is to convince. The best way to do that is to include detailed, concrete examples.
- word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner & on the Kids A-Z app in their kindle. In our small, differentiated groups, we continue with our word study, learning about our spelling patterns and applying them to ALL words, not just the ones on our list! Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.
- religion: This week we discuss how Jesus came to give life by bringing healing love to others. We will read about some bible stories where Jesus showed his compassion and healed those who were suffering.
- science: This week is all about weather, climate, natural hazards & engineering. We will solve the mystery, how can you keep a house from blowing away in a windstorm? Through science AND engineering, we will work to invent paper houses that can withstand wind.
Have an awesome week!
