Sneak peek to our academic week:
Math: We have officially begun multiplication! This week we are exploring the different ways to solve multiplication through equal groups and arrays. We are learning these different skills so that we are familiar with how to solve a multiplication problem without having them memorized. Once these skills are mastered, we will begin memorizing our multiplication facts. At home, it is always a great idea to begin and/or continue memorizing those multiplication facts!
Reading: This week in our non-fiction reading unit, we continue exploring our non-fiction books and participate in text-talks. To prepare for text-talks, we spend time reading our non-fiction texts and jotting down important information. After, we pair up with our reading partners and have great and meaningful conversations about our texts.
Writing: In our informational writing, we will try different organizational structures for our topics, exploring a few of those different structures, and then elaborating on them. We are spending a lot of time filing our information into chapters and jotting down information that we want to include into each chapter. We do all of this before we begin drafting.
Religion: In religion we will spend a lot of time talking about and discussing the Apostle’s Creed. A creed tells us what we believe as Catholics. By praying the Creed, we profess our faith and our belief in the great mysteries. We will continue to explore this further and working to memorize the Apostles Creed, too.
Grammar: This week in grammar we will practice and work with antonyms and synonyms. For many, this is review, but in our writing, it is good to practice using other synonyms to make our writing stronger and more detailed.
Homework this week:
IXL math: E.4, F.2, F. 3
Fluency
100 minutes of reading and logged.
Have a blessed week!
