Our academic week:
Math: This week in Unit 5, we will begin learning about place value through millions. Then, we will spend some time practicing reading, writing, comparing, and ordering numbers less than 100,000.
Reading: In reading we will work on tackling hard words that may complicate the meaning in non-fiction books. We will discuss and practice the ways readers climb the hurdle of hard words!
Writing: This week we will begin writing our pieces for our Palmisano Writing Contest! This year’s topic is about what we want to be when we grow up.
Science: Fossils, fossils, fossils! We continue to discuss the circumstances that make organisms endangered and extinct.
Spelling: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner and on www.spellingcity.com. Spelling tests will be scheduled for next Monday.
Religion: We will discuss/review Chapter 8: God is Holy and Great! Then, we will dive into our Virtus lessons.
Have a wonderful week,
Miss Poindexter
