Third grade families,
As always a lot of good and hard work in third grade!
I have another set of pillows to be washed, if you would like to get some service hours and are interested, please let me know! I will send them home on Friday.
A few important dates:
- Friday, 4/5 is a half day
- We will recite our poems to the class on Monday, Wednesday & Thursday of this week
Homework this week:
- IXL math: J.8, CC.5, CC.7
- Fluency
- 100 minutes of reading & logged
Sneak peek to our week:
math: This week we work with unit 6 as we continue to practice with lines, line segments, rays, parallel lines, right angles, and intersecting lines!
reading: We continue with our character studies on Because of Winn Dixie as well as in our own fiction books. This week we begin to grow bigger and deeper theories about our characters and using those theories to begin predictions in our texts!
writing: Persuasive speeches! This week we will gather big and bold opinions for our persuasive writing. Then, we will write on a repertoire of strategies as we begin to generate our opinion writing.
religion: We reflect on our Lenten season thus far. We will then touch on God’s plan for us. Throughout our week, we will have 2nd grade in our thoughts and prayers as they prepare for their First Holy Communion this Saturday.
Spelling/grammar: spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday. Words can be found in your child’s planner and spellingcity.com. In grammar, we continue to work on sentence strucure.
social studies: We continue with discussing natural resources as we work in our interactive journals!
Have a wonderful week,
Miss Poindexter
