Third grade families,
I hope our third grade moms enjoyed a relaxing Mother’s Day! We are so thankful for all of our wonderful moms (and dads!), and your continuous love and support! It was also so great seeing so many of you at our jog-a-thon! Thank you for participating and making it a great event.
We have a lot of exciting activities to look forward to this week.
Important dates:
Tuesday, May 14this the used uniform sale in the library.
Wednesday, May 15this the intermediate grades Spring Musical! The performance will begin at 6:30 PM in the Biederman Hall. Please be in the hall by 6:00 PM, to ensure we begin on time. As far as what to dress, please refer to the information email sent out last week!
Friday, May 17th full day and IN-N-OUT day! Please come join a yummy lunch with us.
Homework this week:
- IXL Math: K.7, L.3, N.2 –please continue to practice multiplication facts, too!
- Fluency
- 100 minutes of reading and logged
Sneak Peek to our Academic Week:
Math:This week we wrap up unit 7 on more multiplication and division! Our unit test is scheduled for this Wednesday. Later in the week, we will dive into unit 8-fractions!
Reading: This week in reading we continue to notice how a character resolves big trouble. This week, we finish Because of Winn Dixie.
Writing: As we continue on with our opinion writing, we will work to consider our audience while we select and discard material to include in our writing pieces. This week we will continue to work on appropriate places to paragraph, as well as choosing words that sound right and evoke emotion.
Spelling: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner as well as on spellingcity.com. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.
Religion: Our chapter 11 quiz will be on Tuesday. Mid week we will begin chapter 12 in our religion books, Jesus Revealed the Kingdom of God. We will be heading to mass at 8:30 AM on Friday, followed by our May Crowning ceremony. Come join if you’d like!
Science: The Solar System! We have had so much fun studying our solar system. This week we will spotlight on Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
Grammar: This week we will focus on helping verbs: has, have, and had.
