Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
Math- This week we will work through Unit 4.8 – 4.10, practicing our multiplication and division skills! Mid week we will begin reviewing and on Thursday, we will be participating in a Halloween math escape room, where we work in groups to solve the math clues as we try to escape! Our Unit 4 math test is scheduled for next week.
Reading- Mystery! This week we will look out for patterns and common characteristics across many mystery texts. We will continue to read on, all while being influenced by knowing how mysteries usually go.
Writing- We are finished with our narrative writing unit! We worked so hard on our pieces and we will spend the beginning of the week celebrating our hard work by taking the author’s chair and sharing our pieces with the class. Then, we begin our second unit- information writing!
Spelling- Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner and spellingcity.com. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.
Religion- This week we will focus on the four mysteries of the rosary, making booklets for each mystery and reading about all that they entail. Throughout the week we will pray the rosary as a class, preparing for the living rosary on Wednesday.
Science- Animal adaptations! After learning all about animal adaptations and environments, we will make up our own animals with any adaptations we choose. We will write up reports about our animals and end our week making 3D models of our animals!
Have a wonderful week!
Blessings,
Miss Poindexter
