Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
Math: This week we continue on with Unit 8, fractions. We will explore fractional relationships, spatial relationships, and combinations. Then, we will work with the number line as a model for fractions.
Reading: As we finish up our class read aloud, Because of Winn Dixie, we will discuss how main characters are often tested during the climax of a story. As we finish up our class read aloud, and some reading groups finish up their books, we will notice how a character resolves big trouble towards the end of their books.
Writing: We will organize and categorize our evidence in order to best support our opinion. Then, we will work on providing specific, concrete examples to show our opinions and better explain what we are saying.
Word Work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner and on spellingcity.com. As we continue to find the spelling patterns within our words, we will also work on word work activities throughout the week. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Thursday.
Religion: This week we will begin learning all about The Seven Sacraments as we create a sacrament booklet to better explain each Sacrament.
Social Studies: This week we continue studying California Tribes as we work in groups to create a poster depicting the lives of the tribes.
Have a blessed week!
