Important Dates

• Tuesday (11/3) & Thursday (11/5)–PE! Make sure your child wears their PE clothes to school both days. Zoomies will not yet be participating in PE on Zoom. Please have your child do an active activity during this time.
• Friday (11/6)–11:45a dismissal
• Friday (11/6): 1:45p assembly on Zoom for all

Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

math: This week we will continue to work through number stories using part-part-total diagrams. Then, we will learn brand new addition and subtraction methods: partial sums algorithm and subtraction algorithm.

reading: This week we will work to “talk back” to our texts, asking questions about our reading as we go. Then, we will raise the level of our questions and discover deeper meanings in our books, focusing on author’s purpose.

writing: We continue on with our narrative writing as we draft by writing fast and furiously, working to capture the mental movie on the page.

word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner and on www.spellinigcity.com. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.

religion: We will learn about All Saints and All Souls Day. Then, we will discuss how God is great and holy through Moses’ encounter with God and His holiness.

social studies: All about the structure of our U.S. Government!
