Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
math: This week we begin our new math unit on measurement! This week we will work through measuring line segments to the nearest inch,1/2 inch, 1/4 inch, center, 1/2 centimeter and millimeter.
reading: We are also beginning a new unit in reading–Mystery! A third grade favorite! This week we will draw on all we know about solving mysteries in order to read mysteries.
writing: Informational writing! This week we will focus on the research and resources that we can use in order to find more information to enhance our informational books.
word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner and on spelling city.com. We will keep this weeks words for two weeks. No spelling test this week.
religion: We will read through and discuss Chapter 12-Jesus Revealed the Kingdom of God as we read about John the Baptist and how he prepared the people for Jesus’ message.
science: We will continue with the topic of dinosaurs and fossils. This week, we will dig into the mystery: “Can you Outrun a Dinosaur?” by learning about how fossil dinosaur tracks reveal how quickly a dinosaur was running.
