Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
math: We continue on with our measurement unit! This week we will work with units of measurement–inch, foot, yard, centimeter, meter, and decimeter! Later in the week, we will work on finding the perimeter of rectangles.
reading: Mystery! This week we will continue on with our class read aloud, The Absent Author as we begin making specific predictions in our mysteries; looking at suspects, opportunities, and motives!
writing: Informational writing! This week we will focus on adding text features to our writing in order to help our reader’s better understand our topics! Text features include; diagrams with labels, pictures with captions, charts, maps, definition boxes, etc.
word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner and on spelling city.com. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.
religion: We will read through and discuss Chapter 13-Jesus Came to Give Life. We will discuss Jesus’ compassion for people who suffer as well as identifying ways to bring Jesus’ healing love to others through loving actions.
social studies: This week we will learn about the different types of landforms.
