Sneak Peek To Our Academic Week
math: This week we continue with our unit on measurement! Last weeks practice was all about finding perimeter. This week, we work on measuring the area of 2D shapes. Then, we will work to distinguish between the two.
reading: We have finished our class read aloud, The Wild Robot! This week and next, we will work on finding text evidence when completing our reading responses.
writing: This week will work on typing our stories into word documents! We will begin our next writing upon our return from Christmas break.
religion: We continue to reflect on the Advent season together. As we step into the second week of Advent, we focus on the theme PEACE. This week we will focus on peace by praying for peace in our hearts, families, and the world.
We will be attending 8:30 am mass this Friday. Please join us if your schedule allows!
word work: We continue on with Words Their Way! This is a differentiated spelling program that allows our students to learn phonics, vocabulary, and spelling. It’s a hands-on approach to use word study to help us become better spellers. New spelling words will be written in your child’s planner every Monday.
art: We are continuing with our christmas, mixed media art this week!
STEM: Science Technology Engineering Math: We will work together to engineer the highest shelf for an elf possible! We will work collaboratively in groups; combining science, technology, engineering, and math to make the most successful shelf!
Lots of fun! Have an awesome week!
Blessings,
Miss Poindexter
