math: In math this week we will be working with parentheses, fact extensions, and estimating costs! Our math test is scheduled for this Thursday.
reading: In our class read-aloud, Because of Winn Dixie, and in our differentiated reading groups, we will be analyzing the theme of our stories. What is the author trying to teach us through the lives of our characters?
writing: This week we will work on organizing our thoughts in our opinion pieces using the OREO format! Not only are they delicious, they can also help us remember how to organize our ideas in an effective way!
O: opinion
R: reason
E: example
O: opinion
word work: We continue on with Words Their Way! This is our differentiated spelling program where we focus on spelling patterns to help us become the best spellers we can be. Spelling words can be found on Vocabulary A-Z + in your child’s planner. It’s always great to practice these throughout the week.
religion: Mary is Queen of Heaven and Earth. We will discuss how Mary was taken body and soul into heaven as well as how we can show we honor her.
social studies: We will step into the next phase of the planning for our CA Native American Indian Tribe Dioramas!
science: All about stars and constellations!
Let’s have a great week!
