Sneak Peek To Our Academic Week

math: This week we continue to review! We will practice using different math tools around our classroom; student reference books, pattern-black templates, rulers, and calculators! Then, we will practice telling time and work with picto-graphs.

reading: We continue on with our class read-aloud, Third Grade Angels. As we read, we will work on making connections to our reading. Have we ever experienced situations similar to those of the main character, Suds?

Our differentiated reading groups begin this week, too!

writing: Narrative writing! This week we will get familiar with the genre of narrative writing. Before we begin drafting, we will review the tips and tricks to use when generating a story idea.

grammar: All about nouns! We will review nouns and find many different examples of them.

religion: This week in religion we will be introduced to our Prayer Journals. In these journals, we spend a lot of time reflecting on prayer. This week we will go over the different types of prayer.

cursive: So exciting…we will begin cursive this week! First, we will go over the foundations of cursive and learn all about letter formation and letter joins.

Phew…so much learning this week!

Blessings,
Miss Poindexter
