I hope everyone enjoyed the long Memorial Day weekend. It’s hard to believe there are only three more weeks of school left. Everyone worked very hard today, so please encourage your children to stay focused as they were today for just a little bit longer!!!
We will have another free dress day this Wednesday, rewarding us for our wonderful jogathon fundraising efforts.
We will do Reading Logs this week (four days only, due next Monday). You may click here to access the form. Weekly_Reading_Log
We will be doing ixL this week: R 3 and 8, S 1.
We will be working on rough and final drafts of our persuasive essays; these need to be finished by the end of next week, June 5th.
We continue working in Unit 7 in Math, which focuses upon fractions.
We have begun Unit 31 in Spelling; the test will be on Friday. Book pages should be done by Friday. It is important that students study the words; last week’s tests were not the best!
In Social Studies we are reading chapter 7, learning about improvements in transportation and communication after California became a state.
In Vocabulary we continue working on Unit 16; the test will be on Friday.
In Grammar we continue our study of adjectives, adverbs and prepositions. We will have a test on Unit 4 next week. Students should be caught up on all of the pages for Unit 4, through lesson 33, excluding the fourth page of each lesson, which is the writing page.
In Science class we are learning about electricity; we have read the first lesson.
In Religion class we continue learning about the Beatitudes.
In Reading class we continue reading and discussing our final selections for the year.
Thanking you for your continued support,
Mrs. Dwyer
