Our week:

  • Math:
    • In math, we are learning the importance of parentheses in number sentences. We will be gearing up for our Chapter 3 test this week.
  • Reading:
    • This week, we’ll begin diving into non-fiction texts. As a class, we will be studying about weather patterns and phenomena.
    • Our soap carving last week was a hit! There were so many great sculptures created!
  • Writing:
    • As students wrap up the editing on their realistic fiction stories, we will begin to explore opinion writing. Students will learn how to state their opinion in a way that provides evidence and reasoning.
  • Science:
    • We studied about spiders today in celebration of Halloween. As we continue with Science later this week, we will learn more about the formation of rocks.
  • Social Studies:
    • We continue to study California history. We watched a documentary about Lake Tulare near Kettleman City to learn more about how our rivers and lakes in CA have changed over time and how.
  • Religion:
    • In Religion this week, we continue to learn how we can be like Jesus. We’ve studied a few of Jesus’ miracles and took a deep dive into the meaning of the Lord’s Prayer last week.

Have a great rest of your Halloween! We hope to see you sometime on Friday if you can make it! 🙂

Thanks,

Ms. Schmaeling
