Hello Families,
This week we have a pretty regular week during school. The only addition is a “Free Dress” for $1.00 on Wednesday to support Hurricane Helene’s emergency efforts.
Last week we returned to our study of scientists. We first looked at scientists a couple of weeks ago, and last week we turned to how scientists observe animals. We are learning about Joan Goodall’s exciting path as a researcher and how she had to have patience and critical thinking skills to study the chimpanzees of Tanzania.
In math, we practiced counting and up to 100 and down from various numbers. We also played fun games on IXL with counting money and creating our math equations using numbers up to ten. In reading, we are still focusing on character traits and they loved reading, “Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus” and discussing Pigeon’s traits.
This week we are celebrating “Apple Week”! Thank you to the families who agreed to send apples this week for our science activities on apples. I cannot wait to make crockpot applesauce with the students.
Thank you!
Trudi Driscoll
