I hope that you enjoyed the wonderful Labor Day weekend!  It was wonderful seeing many of you at Back-to-School Night! Thank you for your constant support of SHS! To those whose schedules prevented you from attending, if you have any questions please be sure to email me and keep a watchful eye on our weekly newsletters!

In language arts this week, we will finally finish our Kindergarten Review! Woo-hoo! We will also be continuing our spelling work focusing on the beginning, middle, and ending sounds. Remember to practice touch-bump-touch with your child! (See Back-to-School Night handout for a refresher!)

In math, we will continue working with addition to sums of 7 & 8. In social studies we are learning about school workers and schools long ago. Science has us continuing our study of plants and taking a closer look at our experiment from last week!  In religion, we are learning that God is indeed our Father!

We will visit the school library Tuesday and will check out a book.  As a reminder, the children can bring their books home but they MUST be returned to school the following Tuesday in order for them to check out a new book.

Remember PE uniforms tomorrow! It is a Tuesday!

Friday is Grandparent’s Day and a noon-dismissal day as the teachers have a staff meeting.
