Dear Fifth Grade Families,

Thank you everyone who was able to come to Back to School Night.   This Friday is Grandparents Day.  Please join us at the 8:30 Mass.  Classroom visits will begin at 10:15 after the reception in Biedermann Hall.  It is also a noon dismissal.

Below is an overview of our week.

Math: Chapter 1.  We continue to work  on problem solving  with word problems.

Science: Chapter 1 cells.  We are comparing plant and animal cells.

Spelling: Unit 9.  We will have our spelling test on Friday.

Vocabulary: Unit 1.  We will have our test on Thursday.

Social Studies: Chapter 1.   We will be preparing and reviewing for our first test which will be next Wednesday.

English: We will be interpreting figurative language.  This week we will be focusing on metaphors.

Religion:  We will be looking at examples of how Jesus worshiped.

Literature: We will begin reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
