Dear Fifth Grade Families,

Thank you for coming to conferences last week.  We will be very busy until Christmas vacation.  This Wednesday is Free Dress for $1.00 donation. The monies donated will be supporting the Hurricane Sandy Catholic Education Fund.  This Friday is a full day. Please have your child wear their P.E. uniform on Thursday.

Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes.   Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).

Below is an overview of our week.

Math:  We will have our Chapter 4 test on Wednesday.

Science: We will have our Chapter 4 test on Thursday

Vocabulary: Unit 7

Spelling: Unit 13

Social Studies: We will be analyzing the accomplishments of Jacques Cartier and Samuel de Champlain in eastern Canada and The Northwest.

English: We will focus on adverbs and prepositions.

Religion:  Our focus is Advent.  Our Saint of the month is St. Nicholas.

Literature:  We will continue reading our novel, Indian in the Cupboard.
