Today all middle school students received their first accelerated math assignment. We discussed the requirements and I would like all parents to be aware of them as well.
Two assignments need to be completed each full week. (At times we have three or four due in a two-week period). Sixth graders’ passing score is 70% or higher; for 7th graders it is 75% or higher and for 8th graders the passing score is 80% or higher. Each passing score earns 10 points. Students may do one extra assignment each week for 5 points of extra credit.
Students need to show work on the back of the assignment pages or on scratch/binder paper, which is then attached to the assignment and handed in with the scan card when completed. No writing on the front of the assignments, even if there is room!
There is no limit to the amount of assignments a student can do, and the more the better! Students should be working on Accelerated Math every evening.
