The week ahead in 4thgrade
(Note: Students need to bring their recorders on Tuesday, but not on Wednesday. Also, there is no P.E. this week)
Math: We continue work in Unit 5, reviewing what we have learned so far.
Reading: We have finished our unit on nonfiction reading. Last week students completed group posters about their assigned weather topics, and this week they will report about what they learned. I hope everyone will continue reading over the Christmas break.
Writing: We are writing and editing rough drafts, and some of us are writing our final drafts of our opinion essays. We have done a great job on these!
Spelling: No spelling unit this week. We are doing our classroom Spelling Bee, with the goal of selecting our top five spellers to represent the fourth grade at the SHS Spelling Bee on January 18th.
Vocabulary: We continue learning about the words from Unit 8; the test will be after the Christmas break.
Social Studies: The test on chapter 2 will be tomorrow, Dec. 18th.
Science: We continue reading chapter 4.
Religion: We will be reflecting upon the seasons of Advent and Christmas.
Homework: (No Reading Response Journals this week)
Monday: ixL Math skill D 13
Tuesday: ixL Math skill D 14
