Dear Fifth Grade Families,
Congratulations to our Speech Contest classroom finalists, Joshua, Trinity , Samantha Jr. and Martin . They will present their poems to a panel of judges this week. This Friday is a noon dismissal for the students.
Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes. By Friday every student needs to have completed three Acc math packets. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).
Below is an overview of our week.
Math: Customary units of measurement.
Science : Chapter 10. We will be discussing the physical changes in matter. We will talk about expansion and contraction. Our chapter 10 test will be next Tuesday April 30th.
Social Studies: We will be Analyzing how religious beliefs influenced the choices of taking sides during the American Revolution. We will also summarize the role colonial women played in the Revolution.
English: We will be finishing our informative/explanatory texts. The students are doing a fantastic job and are really enjoying the writing process.
Religion: Family Life Series, We will discussing the messages communicated by the media.
Spelling: Unit 24, we are reviewing units 23 and 24. Our pretest will be Thursday and our test will be on Friday.
Vocabulary Unit 12. Our test will be next Monday, April 29th.
Literature: House of Dies Drear.
