Dear Fifth Grade Families,
Welcome Back!
I hope everyone had a peaceful and reflective holiday. Fifth grade is jumping right back in! This Friday is a full day . We will be having Families in the afternoon. On Friday In-n-Out will be here.
Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes. By Friday every student needs to have completed three Acc math packets. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).
Below is an overview of our week.
Math: Our focus this week will be dividing decimals.
Science : Chapter 10. This week our focus is the different states of matter.
Social Studies: Our Chapter 7 test will be on Tuesday. We then will begin our study of the goals and intent of the Second Continental Congress.
English: This week we are continuing to learn all about idioms. The class is really enjoying this. All students need to be practicing their poems for the Speech Contest. We will have our classroom presentations during the week of April 15th.
Religion: This week we will continue our study of the Four Marks of the Church.
Spelling: Unit 24, we are reviewing units 19 and 20. Our pretest will be Thursday and our test will be on Friday.
Vocabulary: Unit 11 test will be on Tuesday. We will then review units 1-6.
Literature: House of Dies Drear. The students are working on their poems they are writing.
