Dear Families,

Thank you for coming to Back to School Night.  I hope all your questions were answered.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org.  This Friday is a noon dismissal.  There will be no school on Monday September 1st.  Below please find an overview of our week.

Math:  We will be working on Divisibility Rules, Prime and Composite numbers.  For ILX.com the two sections due next Tuesday are A.1: Place Value and A.3: Compare numbers up to billions.

Social Studies: Our first States test will be next Tuesday, September 2nd.  Our focus this week will be the Native Americans of the the Southwest.

Religion:  Unit 1: We Worship God as Catholic Christians.

Grammar: We will continue to work on Subjects and Predicates.

Vocabulary:  Unit 1

Science: We will be discussing how cells make and use energy.  We will be going to the Science Lab on Thursday!

ELA:  Unit 1, Playing with Words.
