The 8th grade class is completing their study of the American Revolution and the formation of our government. We had fun in the computer lab creating VOKI characters that explained what we found most interesting about the war and United States Constitution. The characters were very entertaining. Next we move onto Westward Expansion.
The 6th grade class really enjoyed their October art lesson. The teacher taught them how to use placement on the paper and lines to demonstrate perspective. Each drawing of a barn in fall is unique and beautiful. Mrs. Clemmensen’s perspective is that each student is a talented artist!

The 7th grade class is presenting reports on different countries from the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. We are enjoying our adventure learning about different cultures, places to visit, and geography. Next up we will study ancient Africa kingdoms.
This past Sunday the gospel from Luke featured the disciples asking Jesus to” increase our faith”. Jesus responded by telling them what they could accomplish with faith the size of a mustard seed. The class created posters with positive messages about growing our faith each day.
Yesterday was the Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels. In middle school during religion class we discussed the role and gifts of angels in our lives. Each grade completed an activity after reading about angels in the bible.
Once a month each level at SHS mixes up the grades and works on projects. The middle school theme for Friday centers was the environment. The 6th grade continues their study of early humans and the beginnings of civilization. After taking a virtual tour of Lascaux Caves in France, the art teacher had the students tell a story using sandpaper to mimic the rough cave walls. The stories drawn featured hunting parties, building fires, and nature.
