The Gospel for the first Sunday of Lent shares the story of Jesus in the desert facing temptation from the devil. During our Gospel Thursday discussion, the 8th graders reflected on temptations they face in everyday life. We also looked ahead to challenges they may encounter in high school. They then shared and wrote about ideas to overcome temptations. They thought of several virtues like patience, fortitude, faith, and love to call upon when needed so they don’t give in to temptation.
