Today for school wide centers the middle school participated in activities that focused on team work. As the students mingled into mixed grade groups they worked on building a tower out of newspapers, saving a worm, and building infrastructures from pasta shapes. The skills learned were leadership and helping the group achieve their goal.

The 7th grade is currently studying the Native American ancestors of Mesoamerica. These indigenous people include the Olmec, Mayan, Aztec, and Inca. The 7th grade is studying Ancient Japan and the geography of the Islands. We are discussing the pros and cons of living on an island. Today in class the students learned how to make cherry blossom origami and created a beautiful cherry tree on the bulletin board.
