The 8th grade class focused on the role of Guardian Angels in our faith and everyday lives last week. At the end of the lesson they wrote a prayer to their Guardian Angel and drew a picture. The picture was completed with a touch of glitter for the angel!
The 8th grade class researched the remarkable life of Oscar Romero during religion class. Then they studied many of his inspirational quotes and discussed how to apply his message and example to their everyday life while serving others.
For the first trimester, all three middle school classes have formed book clubs to discuss their independent reading books. Today for school wide centers the middle school participated in activities that focused on team work. As the students mingled into mixed grade groups they worked on building a tower out of newspapers, saving a worm, and building infrastructures from pasta shapes. The skills learned were leadership and helping the group achieve their goal.
