Dear Kindergarten Families,
Advent is here! A time to wait and to be patient.
During Advent we learn how God’s family prepares their hearts in celebration of Jesus’ birthday. We will spend time on the Advent wreath and lighting of the candles.
Important events:
- Tuesday is Teddy Bear Day! Please bring a new stuffed animal or plush with the tag on.
- Friday is a full day of school
A look at our academics:
- Advent Saints
- phonics – continuing with rhyming words; letters and sounds.
- reading – book 2 Word Scientists continues with knowing our sight words and finding those words in text. A sight word book is coming home this week.
- writing – we will be finishing our narrative writing unit this week using our sight words for writing a sentence(s).
- math – writing number stories (word problems) using addition and subtraction; introduction of symmetry using paint and fold and cutting symmetrical shapes.
- Winter changes with plants and animals.
Looking ahead to next week:
- Monday -Friday please bring in non perishable food items for annual SHS Food Pantry collection. A bag will be provided.
- First Trimester Progress Report Cards go home on Tuesday, Dec. 10 please sign and return envelope – keep report for your records
- Friday, December 13 Primary Centers and Free dress $$
